Tomorrow will be the start of a new Era for Vientiane Cycling. We have not raced seriously for almost 3 months now, and tomorrow we will lose 180 more points, which means that we will be in Division 9 again with only 50 points left.
The past three months were boring, with only a few transfers that were keeping us busy. First of all there was the sale of our entire squad (Except for unmaxed Shuba). During this sale the entire sprinting and cobbling squad was sold, meaning that guys like Guldhammer, Pruischer, Wuets and Jensen have left the team. At the same time we also started building our new team. We first focused on a sprinting squad. Shuba was maxed with an amazing average of 56, making him our captain for many seasons to come. We acquired Teles, a 220+ sprinter, who unfortunately maxed too low, but is still a very good LO2. Later on we also bought some younger LO's such as Gavaldon, Ahlers, Carter and Bennett. These six riders will form our sprinting squad for a decent amount of time.
After that there still was some money left, and team manager Pha That decided to pick up his old hobby: Creating a Climbing squad. The First three riders of our climbing squad have arrived. Lisicki, Filipek and Beyer. We expect some results from them in the lower divisions, but we realize that three riders is not enough to compete in the higher divisions. Because of this we will be looking to strenghten the team in the climbing area for the upcoming period. We expect to annouce the arrival of 2 climbing team mates before the end of this season.
For now all the remains to be said, is that i am really looking forward to start racing again. It was a bore not to compete in races with the aim of scoring points, and i am very happy that this period is over. Moreover i am very curious with regard to how my riders will cope. I especially have very high hopes for Shuba, who should be able to compete in the higher divisions in OCM.

Good luck. Interesting to see what Shuba will be able to win in the future.
I did the exact same thing Pha. Out with the old and in with the new, younger riders. Good luck to you in the upcoming seasons.
This team should do well in the future
